Max Turnquest, AS

Max Turnquest is a Coral Rescue Aquarist at the Perry Institute for Marine Science (PIMS). He is a member of the team that will be working in the coral rescue facility located in New Providence. The facility is designed to be a home for coral species that are facing the greatest risk of going extinct in The Bahamas. Growing up on Long Island, surrounded by a family who based most of their life around fishing and the ocean, drove his love for the ocean at a young age.

His love for the ocean led to his hobby in aquariums, which also led to him furthering his education at The Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute in North Andros, Bahamas. This is where he learned about the damage that is being done to the ocean and coral reefs. There, he graduated with an Associates of Science in Aquaculture and aimed to push for the protection of the ocean.
