PIMS Internships

Our Internship Experience

Internships at the Perry Institute for Marine Science provide educational and practical support to students aiming to gain skills in a variety of areas supporting ocean conservation and stewardship. If you’re interested in marine science and conservation, an internship with PIMS, may be a great idea for you!

PIMS is offering internships to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate course or recent college graduates. These internships aim to provide exposure to different career paths in marine science. Interns can gain experience assisting with research in our Fisheries or Coral programs, learning to monitor our coral nurseries and restoration sites, utilizing recent technology to advance ocean research and conservation, conducting stakeholder surveys in fishing communities, participating in youth and community outreach programs, or creating communications to share our work with various audiences. Interns will work along with our program managers and contribute to ongoing projects, research and conservation efforts in The Bahamas.

Throwback to last summer when our PIMS interns were all smiles and excitement just before their very first dive! They took the plunge into marine science, exploring the wonders beneath the waves.
